Dancing Longer & Stronger With Eric Zimmer

A two-hour workshop for dancers designed to increase core strength and provide strategies for improving flexibility, posture and alignment. “Foundations” was created;to improve the health and longevity of our dance community by teaching the skills necessary for optimal physical fitness and movement efficiency as it impacts the dancing body.

Eric is active in Portland’s dance and theatre community as a fitness trainer, dance teacher, choreographer and performer. Eric’s extensive training in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theater and Ballroom gives him a unique ability to showcase diverse dance styles and combine forms to create new “signature” movement vocabulary. Eric holds a degree from the University of Montana in Health and Human Performance and has since earned further credentials as an Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist, Stott Pilates instructor and as a certified Basics Ballroom dance instructor. Eric teaches at several Portland fitness clubs and dance studios, where his dynamic and inviting style of instruction is a hit with both children and adults.

What to wear

  • Be sure to have on comfortable exercise attire.
  • Bare feet or socks are fine.

What to bring

  • An exercise or yoga mat, a towel, and enthusiasm!
